Assignment 1A - Post an Introduction to mycourses
Due: Wednesday 3/14, 11:59PM
Overview
Give us a quick introduction over in mycourses. We'd like to know the following:
- Your name
- Your major and year
- Your hometown
- What you're into (games, music, sports, movies, books, yourself, ...)
- What you're most interested in learning in this class (Mobile Apps, Location Apps, Mobile Games, ...)
- If you have a
biaspreference for iOS or Android - Have you done Mobile Development before?
- What are some recent classes you have taken
- Are you stronger as a coder, or as a designer (or both)?
- What kind of App or Game you are thinking of developing for the final project. This is important so I know what to cover this quarter, and also in your quest for a project partner.
Submission
Post intro to appropriate mycourses discussion thread.
Assignment 1B - Join the iOS Developer Program
Due: Wednesday 3/14, 11:59PM
Overview
Joining the basic iOS Developer Program is free and gives you access to sample code, documentation, and videos located at http://developer.apple.com. (Note: the iOS Developer Program version that gives you the ability to publish to the App Store is $99/year - don't sign up for that one.)
Once you are a member and have been added to the Developer University Program, you will also be able to publish your apps to your own iOS devices, using either Xcode (native apps) or iTunes (apps published from Flash or Flex SDK).
Even if you plan to publish exclusively to Android, many of the resources on developer.apple.com are not specific to iOS and give tips for general mobile development.
Submission
1) Follow the link in the University Developer invitation that I will send to you.
2) Accept the invitation. You will be required to create an Apple ID to do so. Remember the email address you use to sign up. That may be important later on.
