Many Decision Support Systems (DSS) have been built; however, very few have been designed specifically for individuals to monitor indoor organisms in different types of contained environments. The objective of this project was to build a prototype DSS capable of supporting an end-user's monitoring and management of these types of indoor organisms by: 1) recording data from physical sensors and web cameras; 2) providing recorded data to the end users, regardless of their physical location; and 3) providing early alerts in the event that user defined environmental variables have been exceeded. This project resulted in the development of a DSS prototype capable of sending early alerts to the end user via email, and the ability to track temperature, humidity, solar and supplemental user-centric information. The DSS prototype associated with this submission is suitable to monitor plant development.
